Hello Members HAPPY THANKSGIVING | | | PRESIDENTS MESSAGE It’s hard to believe the end of 2020 is fast approaching with, hopefully, an end in sight for the pandemic. Until we reach that end, we will not soon forget the things that we learned during the pandemic. The handshake is now the elbow greeting, make-up is replaced with wearing decorative face coverings, our children and grandchildren are cyberlearning and socials are now virtual Zoom parties. What has not changed, it our yearning to see family and friends. As we enjoy the upcoming holiday season in ways we have never experienced before, something that will never go away is the warmth and festivities surrounding our Thanksgiving celebration-- despite all we are going through this year, we have a lot to be thankful for. As I developed my thankful list, one of the themes that come to mind is the gratitude I have for all my OSTC friends, sharing all the amazing stories, funny jokes, the love for travel, adventure and skiing. It is truly heartwarming. Whether it is skiing in Colorado, watching the tracks at New Smyrna Speedway, rafting in Tennessee, sipping wine in Switzerland, canoeing down the Wekiva river, bicycling on the West Orange Trail, winning the FSC Cup ski races, cruising to Alaska, hiking the Grand Canyon or Machu Picchu, attending a Red Sox game in Boston, sailing a windjammer off the coast of Maine, or going to a Thirsty Thursday social…if you have been a member of the OSTC club for even a short time you can remember some if not all those amazing experiences and have made many lifelong friends along your journeys. This is what the Orlando Ski and Travel Club is all about. Speaking of amazing experiences, do you need some fun and want to get away? We still have a few openings on our trips – Sun Valley and Park City are sold out; however, you can always ask to be placed on a waiting list. In addition, check out the last-minute vacancies for Telluride and Switzerland. Keep an eye on the OSTC website for more last-minute opportunities. Although we have reduced the number of socials due to the current environment, you will not want to miss celebrating the holiday with your friends at the OSTC annual holiday party at Ace Café, Orlando, December 3rd. Robin Beckman has arranged for a great event with scrumptious appetizers. Remember to bring a toy or you can donate $10.00 to the Toys for Tots charity. Check out more details on our website at www.orlandoskiclub.com and add the date to your calendar today! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

From there, we head to Machu Picchu. Located on a mountaintop 8,000 feet above sea level in the Peruvian Andes, the city was built with residential, military, and religious areas. Our small group will visit the spectacular ruins twice, allowing us for a deeper exploration of the site after the crowds are gone.
