Hello Members | | | PRESIDENTS MESSAGE How time flies, wow…we are already into September! Happy Labor Day weekend ahead everyone!!! Vacations, travel, barbecues, concerts in the park, and beach days are common themes for this time of year. It is my hope that you and your family are well and able to plan at least a few of these outings safely. We all need to take this time to relax and recharge the batteries that continue to be drawn down during these unprecedented times. Your Board of Directors have been carefully observing the rapid changes over recent weeks surrounding CDC guidelines locally and at the ski slopes. The good news - the ski resorts have started to post their new guidelines for a safe winter opening. Most of the resorts are requiring face coverings, social distancing and ski pass reservations, so be sure to read the safety requirements as you book your trips. The OSTC Travel Committee has been working diligently behind the scenes to bring you a monthly line-up of exciting trips next year – check us out at https://orlandoskiclub.com for new trip updates. Hi Friends!! I'm honored to be highlighted in this month's newsletter. My love for skiing and traveling started at a young age. Every year my family would take a ski trip, initially east coast then after a few years we started going out west. In college, a few friends and I decided to take a road trip from Orlando in my 2-door Saturn to Winter Park, Colorado, where I first tried snow boarding. After a few days of falling and many bruises I finally got the hang of it, and never put skis on again. The first trip I took with the Orlando Ski & Travel Club was an FSC trip to Banff, Canada in 2017. I was hooked on OSTC - not just the trips, but the club and its members! My husband Steve and I have since gone whitewater rafting and to Montana for the Dude Ranch experience with the club. This past May I was slated to lead an awesome group of 14 people to Peru, but unfortunately we've had to postpone the trip - keep you eye out for that trip to be re-launched, we have a handful of spots left! Not only am I traveling with the club, but I've been volunteering on the board for a few years. This year I was elected to 2nd VP (thank you!); in previous years I've been Newsletter Director and Membership Director. It's been such a rewarding experience, and I've made great friendships along the way! Looking forward to seeing you all again soon at the OSTC Membership Drive Picnic at Wekiva Island on 9/13! | | | Just Announced Peru has been Rescheduled to May 2021 | | | BECOME A MEMBER OR RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP | | | MONTHLY EVENTSJoin your Orlando Ski & Travel Club friends at the following events.
