It’s
HOT already in Central Florida, can we please return to ski season???
Since skiing is done, YOUR club is being active in other ways!
Mid-April, 60+ of Orlando
Ski and Travel Club members met at Leu Gardens for a
lovely evening under the stars at an outdoor Jazz Concert. Now this
coming Friday night, May 3rd, we are again meeting at Leu
Gardens to watch an outdoor showing of “Crazy Rich Asians”.
Bring your picnic basket, lawn chair and a tasty bottle of Pinot Noir
for me please!

the travel continued with an OSTC
Adventure trip to Vegas Baby! It was a great
combination of PARTY and hiking in Mother Nature’s most wonderful
country! This was our 2nd Annual combo trip to Vegas,
shall we make it an on-going annual trip? Let us know!
At
our April Social we celebrated in BIG style our GOLD
CUP 1st place race winners! It was tons of
fun with gold balloons,
banners, trophy cups with drink tickets & gift cards for the six
race winners! We had a special cake decorated with the GOLD
METAL & listing each of the six winning
racers names. Another thanks to those racers who represented OSTC with
grand style!
Our
May Social will be our usual fun visiting with each other, enjoying
replaying YOUR ski trips and chatting about your upcoming plans with
the club. Plus, this Social will be our “Annual Business Meeting” as
required by our By-Laws including Election of Officers for upcoming
Board year (June 1- May 31st).The Nominating Committee has
selected a slate of qualified Candidates presented below; however,
nominations will also be taken from the floor. We’ll do the biz quick
and get back to the FUN!
Also,
in May OSTC
plans to launch sales for all our Ski Trips for 2019-2020 season!
This year a $100 Discount will be offered for EARLYBIRD sign

Ah,
this is my final President’s Message as I leave office May
31st, it’s bitter sweet! It has been an honor and privilege to serve
the Members of the Orlando
Ski and Travel Club for more years than I can
remember. Most recently, I served as Vice President of Trips for six
years and President for the last three years. I’ve had my supporters
and my critics; yet, I believe both sides will agree I have worked
hard on behalf of membership, both to offer a wide variety of Ski
travel while always keeping our members finances in mind.I took my
role as Financial Steward of YOUR money very seriously!
During
my tenure some of my goals were to offer more than ski travel, to add
Adventure travel and more local events to make OSTC more of a
year-round club.With the help of a great Board, we’ve accomplished
that. Another goal was more benefits to members, one of those has
been re-introducing and enhancing an annual December Holiday Party.
We’ve also enhanced the monthly socials which have continued to grow
in attendance.
Another
goal,as budget permits & reviewed annually, was to create a Trip
Credit to Board members who generously give of their time to run this
club. The amount varies, yet even if small amount, it shows
appreciation and hopefully incentivizes others to join Club Leadership.
Trip Leaders also are incentivized to varying degrees depending upon
sales numbers. The Club can not continue without new blood getting
involved on the Board; or, as Trip Leaders or Local Events
organizers! I know everyone is sick of my preaching this; yet, it is
reality. If you LOVE your club, get involved!
