President's Message

Happy Daylight not Savings Week to all OSTC Club members!

Our Grandest-Ever Lakeside Cabin Party Event took place at nearby Lake Louisa in Clermont, Florida a couple of weeks ago. We had 70+ members attend and enjoy a superb weekend of fun! The event sold out as always and long-time member Steve Miller made his 1st time appearance (intended only to stay for the day on Saturday) and didn ’t want to leave, so he ended up crashing on the couch with club member friends for the night. He mentioned to me that he couldn ’t believe his eyes regarding what our club was able to accomplish within that 2-day period. We enjoyed food tasting, hiking, kayaking, bicycle rides, BBQ, and 5 almost professionally and amazingly themed decorated Cabin Parties!! We had nearly 50 attendees that chose to dress up in Costume for the 5 back-to-back Cabin Parties! Congratulations to Devin and her 8-member unscrupulous Gang that put together the award-winning Cabin themed - β€œMost Wanted” Western including a Shot Toting Sheriff, Gaggle of Wenches, and even a Jail photo-booth!

Check out a few photos from this spectacular event below! πŸ“Έ

Make a note to yourself now to attend and reserve space within your schedule next Fall once the dates are announced for next year ’s Lake Louisa Cabin Party Weekend! Date is TBD but will possibly be mid-November.

There are so many of us in this Travel Club that consider the friends we've met and developed over the years attending various club activities to be our family. This truly is your Travel Family! That being said I would like to release a new idea onto our club calendar; this one being on Thanksgiving Day! Those of you who don't have committed meal plans already in place or could use a break from your traditional family and would like to come spend a couple of hours on Thanksgiving Day with your Travel Family and Friends, we're working now on finding a location for us to meet and enjoy our 1st Thankgiving Day Club Potluck together! Keep an eye out on our Orlando Ski and Travel Club Meetup page for further details on this local club event.

Mark your calendars now for this important event:

OSTC Christmas Party – Wednesday December 13th, at the Hilton Garden Inn, at 1275 Lee Rd., Winter Park, Florida, from 7PM to 11PM - Celebrate Christmas Holiday with fellow Orlando Ski and Travel Club Members – Everyone including your friends, neighbors and coworkers are invited to attend. We will provide food and a Superior DJ playing great dance tunes.

Hope to see you there!
Happy holidays!

The Crested Butte Ski Resort is well known for the extreme friendliness, and the extremely laid-back culture. CB has no major aspirations to be like Aspen or other upscale ski towns. Crested Butte prides itself on being β€œreal” and down to earth; the sort of place where a ski bum could get very comfortable. The iconic town of Crested Butte is renowned for its funky character and fierce independence alongside its jaw-dropping beauty and vast, wild terrain.

Experience a true Ski-in/Ski-out Mountain Luxury experience at Elevation Hotel & SpaTheir spacious guest rooms feature 1K or 2QQ with seating area and a resort kitchenette with microwave, under-counter refrigerator, sink, toaster, coffeemaker, granite countertops, and stone tile floors. Only a few spots left!

"Crested Butte is one of my all time favorite resorts for many reasons: it’s only 45 minutes from Gunnison Regional, it has a wide variety of terrain and is an easy mountain to navigate with NO LIFT LINES, and such a cool, laid-back vibe. Traveling with our friends with OSTC meant we never skied alone and enjoyed super fun aprΓ©s ski right at the base. Free winter shuttles into town make it so easy to explore and enjoy dinner in downtown Crested Butte, a true authentic, small mountain town with great restaurants and it’s very own rum distillery - Montanya Distillers! Chuck and I spent a VERY pleasant few hours there our last visit LOL. If you’ve never skied CB, don’t miss your chance to go…we can’t wait to go back!" ~ Chuck and Cyndy Valence
